We prefer permissionless resource exchange whenever possible. Our free Food stand is an example of this. Community members who have food to give away simply leave it in the free food stand. Community members in need can easily come and get the food they need in an anonymous way. A fulfilling moment was seeing a family who just came to Superior from Peru get food from the free food stand, and then a few months later, seeing them add food to it.
Miracle after she built the Free Food Stand. Instructions on how to make your own found HERE.
We first heard about this idea from a sister community center The Fledge. Miracle participated in their 99 problems but a pitch ain’t one competition and won $99 to purchase the materials needed for the project.

In the future we’ll upgrade the free food stand to make it hard for critters to get into it and so businesses can leave excess food in the free food stand without being hassled by authorities.
