Supporting the creation a 100% Queen Creek Watershed focused organization

The Queen Creek Working Group is a group that got started in partnership with the Town of Superior and University of Arizona’s Water Resource Research Center. The group is composed of a number of Rio Tinto representatives along with a few other stakeholders. The aim is to turn this group into its own non-profit that would focus 100% on the restoration of the Queen Creek Watershed.

The approach so far is to apply for the Bureau of Reclamation’s Cooperative Watershed Management Planning Grant as a way to fund a full time person to support the creation of the watershed entity and to guide stakeholders through a vision, mission, goal setting process.
