Creating a regranting process so we can fund great local projects.

We’ve learned a lot from the regranting we’ve done to date.

Lessons Learned:

• Start small and do more as time goes on provided things go well
• Be clear about expectations around communication
• Find ways to limit stagnation
• Fund projects we’re incubating
• Give under-funded municipal projects what they would buy if they had the money

Pinal County Library District - Superior Public Library

• Raised funds for the Superior Public Library’s Summer reading program

  • They’re sorely underfunded

  • They want the snacks not the money

  • Did a GoFundMe instead of pulling from our budget

    

Town of Superior’s Fire Department:

We helped The Town Of Superior’s Fire Department start a Fire Corps but the Town doesn’t have budget for the program.

• Regenerating Sonora approved $1,000 in seed money to the Fire Corps
• Regen Sonora’s Place Based Grant with Vitalyst Health Foundation will help purchase additional training equipment and certification credentials.
