In order to make it easier for people to eat local food, we created the Superior Eat Local Network. This is a growing group of local growers who exchange food and advice with each other. This is an ongoing experiment that will evolve overtime.

We’ve conducted a number of interviews with local growers and determined that starting a microgrant program will significantly help them obtain greater yields. We will run a few experiments in 2025 to see if it’s something we can grow overtime.

Spring of 2025 we held our first Eat Local Expo where we brought local producers together to give their neighbors a taste of what’s possible to make from their own backyards.

Summer 2025 we’re helping a few locals host a chicken processing class in order to make this practice more accessible to others.

In the background we’re talking with locals who have food producing trees and plants but for one reason or another aren’t harvesting. We’ll pay community members to visit those homes in order to harvest and process the food to be made available at Leo’s Community Development Center. There we are quietly turning it into a local food hub so we have another option for people to buy locally grown food.
